Acupuncture
Chinese Medicine
The Chinese discovered acupuncture more than 5,000 years ago, finding that pressing certain points on the body relieved pain where it occurred and also benefited other parts of the body more remote from the pain and the pressure point.* Gradually, they found other locations that not only alleviated pain but also influenced the functioning of certain internal organs.
Healing You
Acupuncture addresses illness or dis-ease by placing needles into a person’s skin at particular points (or meridians) on the body. Megan uses a variety of diagnostic tools, prior to treatment, including charting the pulse, examining the tongue, and inquiring constitutional health questions in order to determine what imbalances are the root cause of a patient’s condition. Conditions that may be greatly improved or resolved include fibromyalgia, migraine headaches, food sensitivities, muscular or joint pain, irritable bowel syndrome, anxiety/depression, fatigue, gynecological issues and more.

Acupuncture is recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the National Institute of Health (NIH) as being an effective treatment protocol for a wide variety of conditions, including: pain, stress, insomnia, depression, headaches, fertility and women’s issues, addiction, and more!
You’re in Good Hands
Many people do not try acupuncture out of fear. Fear of needles, pain, and the unknown. Some practitioners advertise acupuncture as “painless.”
While I have a gentle touch and needling technique, I emphasize to each patient that acupuncture is full of “sensations.” As the body begins to balance, it is normal to feel a myriad of sensations such as: heavy, deep, aching, warmth, cold, and more. If the sensations are ever too intense, the needles can easily be adjusted for the patient’s comfort level.
